On April 25, 2025 there was a memorial for Beatrice the crossing guard. It was by the plaque where she used to cross the kids and left them with a smile every time.
Beatrice’s memorial warmed many people’s hearts. Her family was there and told us about how much Beatrice loved being a crossing guard and loved kids. Millie from 5S said “ It was very sweet, and she was a really great crossing guard. Every day, in the pouring rain Beatrice could put a smile on your face. Sophia from 5P crossed with Beatrice every day she said “It was very cute and I liked the cards everyone made, even the kindergarteners. I crossed with her every day. She was basically in my walking group, since she always said hi!” This shows how kids really cared about her, and she cared about all the kids who crossed with her.
Beatrice loved all kids and she was a teacher before she was a crossing guard. She was a crossing guard for 10 years. All the kids loved her and she loved all the kids. For Beatrice’s memorial, people put flowers around her plaque and hung up cards on the bushes near her plaque. It was really nice to see everyone there for her and supporting her and her family. After everyone went to the back, Beatrice’s family gave a speech about how every time Beatrice came home, she would have stories about the kids. This was a really special moment for her and her family.
