A plaque was recently installed on Boulevard-Pelhamdale Avenue intersection near Colonial School. The plaque is honoring the crossing guard Beatrice Cosentino. The plaque commemorates how she was so nice and crossed the students safely every day.
Beatrice was one of the most liked crossing guards in Pelham. The students were really sad to hear about her passing. The town put up this plaque so when students pass it they can think of her. The students at Colonial School loved her. She was always happy and had a big smile. The plaque is very special for many people and the students are proud that Beatrice was honored in this way. Caleb Wierstra said that, “I miss her a lot and she will always be remembered”. Neel Mishall and Ben Garvett said, “We feel happy there is a plaque to remember her!”
Many people were devastated by the news when she passed away and the plaque is a nice way for the kids who crossed the street with her to remember her. As the plaque says, “Because of Beatrice, every child crossed here safely, and with a smile.”
