The spelling bee was a program that all Colonial students grades 3-5 could participate in. There were meetings every Tuesday, and the spelling bee teachers were Mrs. Monteleone and Mrs. Stivala. The 1st place winner was a 4th grader, Allison Charrier, who won last year as well. The 2nd place winner was also a 4th grader, Lilah Schwarz, who won 2nd place last year, too. Finally, the 3rd place winner was a 3rd grader named Maggie Dammerman.
The spelling bee was an exciting event where people studied and worked hard to learn and spell words in front of a big crowd. All the spellers in the spelling bee did an amazing job. Now I will share some opinions people had on the spelling bee. Sophia in 4A said, “I liked watching it.” Elihu in 4M said, “It helps with education.” Finally Neel from 4M said, “It was pretty fun.”
Overall, the spelling bee was a really fun program that we hope to continue next year.
