What is the Read-A-Thon? Colonial schools Read-A-Thon is an event where students read and record the minutes read per week in a special folder. The students have their minutes counted every week. Then, they calculate the average amount of minutes per class.
If your class reads the most minutes at the end of the Read-A-Thon you will receive a prize. 2025’s prize is unknown this year. There are personal prizes though, if you have enough minutes read that week you can pick from a small bin of fun prizes! You know you have enough minutes if you get a star sticker on your folder when you get it back. This year it looks like 4G will win with an average minutes of 1,184!
The colonial Read-A-Thon has changed a few things this year. The pins that were used as an award for getting a certain amount of minutes read have been changed to stickers! Do people like the new changes? Tommy from 5P says, “The stickers are better and cooler.” While other students say, “No, because you can wear the pins but the stickers fall off after one day”
